What’s been happening:

I retired in 1995 following 6 years employment with the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission and 32 years with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. My main research interests were the effects of habitat alterations on aquatic life and the restoration and management of depleted fish populations. Much of my last 10 years of work was devoted to the threatened Gulf sturgeon in the Suwannee River. I also had adjunct faculty status at the University of Georgia, Clemson University and the University of Florida (now a serious Gator fan!). I have been a member of the American Fisheries Society for 50 years and have served as President of both the Southern Division and the Introduced Fish Section. Presently I am Treasurer of Florida Defenders of the Environment, active with other environmental groups, spend time on my small tree farm, and travel with my wife Marilyn. I still hunt and fish on a regular basis.
